In the most recent medical news, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new indication for Tasigna (nilotinib) which treats a rare blood cancer when first diagnosed. The cancer is called Philadelphia chromosome positive chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CP-CML), and it is a slowly progressing blood and bone marrow disease linked to a genetic abnormality.
This new indication allows for more use of Tasigna in adult patients who are in the early stages of this disease.
