FDA Approval as Reported by LLS

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society works tirelessly to help in the fight against cancer.  Certainly, the support that they receive from their fundraising events and from donors such as Corey Ribotsky, helps in this enterprise.

In addition, they are always following the latest FDA approvals in cancer drugs and other research developments.  In the most recent medical news, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved a new indication for Tasigna (nilotinib) which treats a rare blood cancer when first diagnosed.  The cancer is called Philadelphia chromosome positive chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CP-CML), and it is a slowly progressing blood and bone marrow disease linked to a genetic abnormality.

This new indication allows for more use of Tasigna in adult patients who are in the early stages of this disease.
